Wine and Food for Spring – Saturday, May 6th 3 pm – 5 pm

For residents of the Midwest, spring is a most welcome respite from the dreary cold of winter. Although our winter wasn’t particularly oppressive this year, spring retains a special place in our hearts as it is when we first start to see lovely edible organisms emerge from the earth. We’re going to celebrate this by showcasing bright, fresh whites, reds and roses that we’ll pair with small plates from Chef Mike Eng that highlight the early bounty of spring, including nettles, ramps, asparagus and wild mushrooms.

Sparkling Wine (The World Outside of Champagne) – Saturday May 20th 3-5 pm

680Sparkling wine immediately conjures thoughts of revelry and celebration. The most famous Sparkling wine is of course Champagne, but there is a wide world of wine with bubbles out there and it’s time to taste them. There are Cremants in other regions of France, Franciacorta and Prosecco in Italy, Sekts in Germany and, of course, a diverse selection of Petillant Naturels (Pet-Nats). In addition to tasting this array of wines with bubbles, we’ll experiment with a few sparkling wine cocktails. FFurthermore, Chef Mike Eng will prepare a selection of small plates that pair with sparkling wine and we’ll float down the river of fizzy wine.

$50, Tickets available through Ticketleap
